Beginning Second Round of COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics
CEO Gary Blake leads by example to encourage staff and residents to get vaccinated
“I wanted to show everyone – staff, residents, families and friends – that the vaccine is not something to fear,” Blake said. “This vaccine is a true sign of hope and will give us another layer of protection against the virus. I hope all residents and staff members at our facilities choose to get the vaccine.”
The first vaccination clinic at Lake Lodge Nursing and Rehabilitation was held on Dec. 28. The vaccination is being administered in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control, Walgreens, and CVS which will facilitate vaccinations at the majority of Creative Solutions in Healthcare facilities. The pharmacy teams will make three visits to each long-term care facility to ensure all residents and staff receive their first dose and a follow up booster.
While it is highly recommended for health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities, the vaccine is not mandatory. Creative Solutions in Healthcare, which operates Lake Lodge Nursing and Rehabilitation and more than 80 facilities across the state, recently launched a series of educational webinars to address some of the initial skepticism about the vaccine. Blake says getting the vaccine himself was a logical next step. “I was excited to do it and it was very, very simple. I vaccinate for everyone.”
